I'm Considering It....
February 28, 2012

...joining in on this blog party that is.
I'm doing a little soul-searching and rereading my blog, trying to come up with the answers to this profound question. I've already checked out the host blogs for the WDYWYBTBWIGU (what do you want your blog to be when it grows up) party and feel much intimidated by their blogs' bigness and my blog's smallness.
The party is this Friday, March 2 ~ whether I participate or not. :) What about you? Do you have a blog? Okay, here's the deal, I'll participate in the party if you will.
Here is the invitation from the party hosts:
We have a fun new party idea and want to invite you to participate...the impromptu party goes live THIS FRIDAY...March 2nd.
We are calling it, "What Do You Want Your Blog to Be When It Grows Up?"
Have you ever thought about.......
What your vision is for your blog? Which direction you want to take your blog? What do you want to accomplish with your blog in 2012?
If you haven't thought about this.....we encourage you to do it now. By writing down goals for yourself and your blog, you determine what you want your blog to look like. It's kind of like a vision board for your blog.
Simply put, we want you to dream your biggest dreams, your wildest hopes, your greatest aspirations.....and then.....
.....we want to know about them.
This Friday, Eclectically Vintage, it all started with paint, the space between and Thistlewood Farm are hosting a linky party.
We want you to post about your vision....tell us "What Do You Want Your Blog to Be When It Grows Up?" and then link your post up to the party. We can't wait to see what your vision is and share ours with you. The party starts this Friday at 6am CST and continues until the following Friday at 11:00pm CST.
We sincerely hope to see all of you there.
And...we have a bunch of other fun ideas up our sleeve that we're dying to share with you!!
Please check out our posts about this Friday's party...and grab our button if you'd like.

So what do you think?
Remember, I'll do it if you will.

Wanna be a Zonbeak?
A True Story
A conversation between my dear son and myself when he was around four years old:
DS: "Mama, what's a Zonbeak?"
Me: "A what?"
DS: "You know, a Zonbeak."
Me: "Where did you hear that word?"
DS: "In Children's Church."
He then begins to sing; "Jesus wants me for a Zonbeak..."
Seems they learned a new song in Children's Church that morning. :)
Sometimes it's all in the way you look at something.
Did you smile?
I hope so.
I made something just for you.
Hope you have a Sunshiny day!

Thank You, dear Lord, for this brand new day!
Thank You for washing it with the morning rain and blessing it for Your children.
I look forward to going to our little church this morning for worship and renewal. I look forward to the music and songs. And I look forward to teaching the little ones in Children's Church.I look forward to a wonderful Sunday afternoon too, coming home with family to share a Crock Pot of chili and a warm fire in the fireplace.
An afternoon of relaxation.
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

My favorite day of the year!
This Happy Valentine woke up to a dark, rainy day outside.
But it's all sunshine and happiness inside her home!
Her sweet hubby gifted her with chocolate, a pot of tulips,
and a sweet Valentine.
She has happy butterflies on her cabinet top.?
They're waiting to go to the kindergarten Valentine's party this afternoon.
They can't wait to see 17 little kindergarten smiles.
Wishes to you for a Happy Valentine's Day from
Hope your day is filled with love and warmth.

Spring Dreaming
February 09, 2012

The weather has been teasing us here in Alabama.
Spring-like days last week. Sunny...warm...then rainy.
Cooler this week.
Even colder temps coming this weekend.
But I'm thinking of giving Spring a little push.
These fashions from Modcloth.com have me dreaming of warm, sunny Spring days spent with my sweet hubby in the great outdoors.
Picnics, flea markets, sight seeing...the list goes on and on.

I love the Modcloth website!
They even give suggestions on accessories to wear with their dresses.
Here's the description for the Sunny Expedition Dress above:
Before you head out into the wild and winding streets of the city, be prepared for an enjoyable voyage in this adorably simple khaki dress! Built from steadfast cotton-blend cloth, this classic dress boasts flattering bodice darts, hidden back zipper, and padded cap sleeves, and easily meets your need for a comfortably cute journey. Add a braided belt, chocolate riding boots, a stellar blazer, but dont over-pack your tote, because the road ahead has many fun adventures!
I love the picture this description conjures up!??

I could SO make these dresses!
I'm thinking it's time to go out a buy a pattern and sit myself down in front of my sewing machine.
I found this wonderful website just yesterday that has pics of dresses, mostly from Modcloth.com, and shows a sewing pattern that's comparable to the dress.
You might want to check it out:
Go to Sewweekly.com and click on Make This Look.
I'm so inspired!
I loved those shoes in the last pic so much that I spent half of yesterday surfing the net for a pair that favored them, but with just a little higher heel for this shorty.
And look what I found at Shoebuy.com!

I've been dreaming of a completely organized, pink and red closet after finding this picture on Pinterest.
Wouldn't it be fun to wake up to this happy closet every morning?
My closet isn't too bad.
It's organized, but it's just not as cute as that little girl's closet.
I made a post about mine in February of last year.
You can check it out here.
I've certainly been enjoying wearing my pink sweaters the past few drab, rainy days.
But I think it's time for a closet make-over.
I'm looking forward to the weekend.
We don't have anything special planned, but a weekend with my sweet hubby is always special.
Thank you for joining me on this Pink Saturday.
Don't forget to go by Beverly's for a larger dose of PINK!

February is my favorite month!
Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday!
It's all about love, pink, red, flowers, and chocolate. My favorite things!
Yesterday was a Bonus Day.
To me, any month that has 31 days is a Bonus Month and I call the 31st my Bonus Day.
I always try to make my Bonus Days special.
I always try to make my Bonus Days special.
Here's how I spent my January Bonus Day.
I started it out by dressing in my cheeriest pink sweater set.
You can't help being happy any day that you wear pink!
Try it!
After getting my household chores done, taking a walk, and having lunch, I went to kindergarten.
I hadn't been to the class in a couple of weeks and was surrounded by 16 precious little ones and received many, many hugs.
They make me feel so loved.
After coming home, and before having to cook supper,
I spent a little restful time in my front porch rocker with some reading material;
our little town's weekly newspaper, a new seed catalog and a good book.
I've noticed lately that I get hungry every time I open up my book to read.
I think I need to get a different book mark.
While outside, I also enjoyed the few spots of bright color in my otherwise brown surroundings.
???
???
I then reluctantly came in and started supper; Sweet Potato Chowder and buttermilk biscuits.

We were happily surprised with a guest for supper; youngest son's girlfriend joined the four of us.
A meal is always better when shared with others.
After our meal there was still a little bit of sunshine left for a walk with sweet hubby.
A day surrounded by love.
My favorite kind of Bonus Day!
